One of the choices that will have the biggest impact when you are printing a book is whether you will have a paperback or hardback cover. Your decision will have a significant effect on the way the book looks and feels as well as on the cost of printing them.
Paperback books are the most common choice. Although the cover is of a thicker and sturdier material than the pages it contains, it will still be relatively flexible. Casebound or hardback books have a thicker, rigid board cover that may be enclosed within a separate paper dust jacket. Hardbacks are much more solid and can’t be bent in the same way as a paperback. Both of these types of covers has own advantages and disadvantages that you should consider when choosing which one is right for you.
Both types of cover have some important advantages that can make them a good choice for your print project. The best choice for you will depend on what you hope to achieve with your book once it is printed. It is also worthwhile remember that you can always print multiple versions of your text for different uses, just as many large publishing companies do.
